Year 6

Year 6

Year 6 is an incredibly important year. Our aim in Year 6 is to make it an incredibly fun one as well! Already this year, children have had the chance to visit Astley Burf outdoor adventure centre for a residential trip, during which they climbed the Malvern hills, clambered across high ropes courses and took part in the ‘legendary’ Red Hall campfire. As we move towards Christmas, children will also have the opportunity to visit Blists Hill Victorian town and, in conjunction with Ellowes Hall secondary school, will get to take part in the ‘Great Red Hall bake off’. We will be working toward the end of key stage tests in May throughout the year ensuring the children are fully prepared to succeed to the best of their ability. As we move through year 6 we will also begin begin to prepare  children for the transition to secondary school. Creative art projects, charity fundraising and some truly geeky ICT will certainly round off the children’s journey at primary school with a ‘bang’.
